Refined C5 Petroleum Resin for Adhesives

Product Number:

PRS®–A1085, A1090, A1095, A1100, A2085, A2095, A2100, A2110 refined C5 petroleum resin

Petroleum resin use:

  • In the adhesive and sealant industry, C5 petroleum resin has occupied an important position as a tackifying resin. Among them, hot-melt adhesives and pressure-sensitive adhesives are used the most. PRS®-A series refined C5 petroleum resin is a petroleum resin suitable for hot-melt adhesives and pressure-sensitive adhesives.
  • They have good compatibility with styrene polymers such as SIS, SBS, SEBS, SEPS, natural rubber, synthetic rubber and EVA, etc., and are compatible with natural tackifying resins (terpenes, rosin and their derivatives) It is also good, and it can improve the various properties of the adhesive to varying degrees.
  • In recent years, C5 petroleum resin has been widely used due to its high peel bonding strength, good fast tack, stable bonding performance, moderate melt viscosity, good heat resistance, good compatibility with polymer matrix, and low price. Gradually replace natural resin tackifiers (rosin and terpene resins) and occupy a prominent position.

Characteristics in Rubber Mixing:

  • Good fluidity, can improve the wettability of the main material
  • Good viscosity, outstanding initial tack performance
  • Excellent aging resistance
  • light color
  • Transparent, low odor, low volatile matter
  • In hot-melt adhesives, PRS®-A series can be used alone as tackifying resin, or mixed with other tackifying resins to improve certain characteristics of hot-melt adhesives.

Petroleum Resin Application Field:

  • Hot melt adhesive

Other Applications of Petroleum Resin:

  • Burn-melt pressure-sensitive adhesive
  • solvent-based pressure-sensitive adhesive
