PRS refined C5 series hydrocarbon resin, using the ethylene by-product of carbon five as raw material with continuous automated production technology after such process as C5 refined and catalyzed polymerization. The molecular weight of C5 resin is narrow in distribution, which has a better compatibility with elastomers as natural rubber, butadiene rubber, butyl rubber, PE rubber, styrene inlayed section copolymer (such as: SIS, SBS), EVA and polybutylene.

C5 Petroleum Resin Application

Presently, C5 Hydrocarbon resin is playing gradually more and more important role as tackfier in the adhesive and sealant industry, especially in the application of hot melt adhesive and pressure sensitive adhesive. The series of PRS®-A petroleum resins product are a category of C5 aliphatic hydrocarbon resins applicable for hot melt adhesive and pressure sensitive adhesive. These products have an excellent compatibility with a wide variety of elastomers including natural rubber (NR), synthetic rubber, Ethylene Vinyl Acetate (EVA) and styrenic block copolymer such as SIS, SBS, SEBS, SEPS. Additionally, they also have a good compatibility with the natural tackfying resins such as terpene, rosin and thereof derivatives.  At the same time, all the properties of adhesive can be improved in various degrees by the application of these C5 petroleum resins. In recent years, C5 petroleum resins are gradually replacing the natural resin tackfier(such as terpene and rosin) due to its advantages of high deep strength, fast tack, stable adhesion performance, moderate melting viscosity, high thermal resistance, good compatibility with polymer basis, economic price.
